Carmelo Zampaglione,
Managing Director & Owner
Carmelo
Zampaglione is a qualified Electrical Engineer from the University of
Melbourne, and later achieved an executive MBA from the same
institution. He has over 25 years in the telecommunications industry
and has high-level corporate experience at leading Australian companies
such as BHP, Telstra and Transfield including over 8 years experience
in working in Asia.
Carmelo has a long and successful track record of delivering strategic
sales and marketing consultancy services. Some of his key
achievements include securing a multi-million dollar win for
a
global telecommunications vendor for the supply of switching equipment
to an Australian carrier and engagement of an Asian telecommunications
vendor as a second supplier for DSL equipment to an Australian carrier.
Edward Ko,
Commercial & Systems Manager
Prior to joining Zamro, Ed spent over 7 years within the accounting
profession and then joined Telstra as a Financial Controller on a
multi-million dollar offshore project, where he played a pivotal role
in the analysis and subsequent Board approval for many of its offshore
investments. After leaving Telstra, Edward joined an Asian
based brokerage house as a telecommunications specialist, until
deciding to move back to Australia. Ed joined Zamro in 1999
as Commercial Manager and has taken responsibility for the financial
and commercial aspects of the business. He has been a key
member of the management team and overseen the development of Zamro's
Professional Services organization.
Edward graduated as a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and is a
Chartered Accountant by profession.
Don Proudfoot,
Principal Consultant & Chief Architect
Don
Proudfoot's career spans 28+ years in the telecommunications industry
in Service Provider, R&D and Vendor segments, including working
extensively in Australia, North America and Asia Pacific. For
the past 15 years he has been responsible for business transformation
planning with major service providers in the Asia Pacific region, the
focus on taking advantage of new, disruptive and convergent
technologies, and transforming these technologies into
revenue-generating services.
Mr. Proudfoot has run teams of Business Strategy and Network
Transformation experts in virtually all the ASEAN, Indian subcontinent,
ANZ and North Asia countries focused on identifying regional Market
Trends and discontinuities; new services definition and introduction;
as well as the resulting network optimisation and
transformation. Coupled with the Service and Network planning
activities Mr. Proudfoot has also lead several major projects focused
at business process change to ensure ongoing capture of the new
revenues and cost savings enabled by the service and technology
discontinuities.
Mike Robey,
Principal Consultant
Mike
Robey has a PhD in Chemical Physics with an early working career in
fundamental and applied research. He has subsequently had 16 years
experience in Telstra and Telstra companies in the area of mobile
telecoms. Mike started in Mobile Networks during the growth
period of Analogue Mobile systems in the early 90's through the launch
of GSM 900 in '93 and then a 4-year period as COO of Hong Kong's
CSL. While at CSL he negotiated a 3G 2100 network supply and
install deal with Nokia, launched the network and a range of 3G
services. He undertook a transformation of the OSS and BSS environment
in CSL and renewed most systems. Returned to Australia in 2005 to help
launch the 3G, 2100 Telstra network and subsequently in 2006 the
International award winning 3G 850 NextG HSPA network.
- Launched and subsequently exited the DoCoMo
i-mode service, which was replaced by a custom built suite of
multimedia services in Telstra Australia; in part due to the
unavailability of handsets supporting i-mode at 850MHz.
- Developed successful bid strategy for the
online Hong Kong 3G spectrum auction.
- Launched a number of Asian mobile firsts;
including MMS, ring-back tones in GSM and EDGE services.
- Extensive experience in managing all aspects of
a Mobile Operation, including IT systems, service delivery, Product
Development, Regulatory and Legal, Networks, Marketing and Ops
John Young,
Principal Consultant
John
Young is a professional, experienced ICT executive with a successful
track record in both government and private domains spanning more than
37 years, as a senior manager, director and consultant covering
engineering, marketing, and business development roles. He is
well known and respected across the Australian telecommunications
industry. Mr. Young served Ericsson for 15 years (9
years at Director level), and two years as a Vice President of Nortel
Australia, as well as active participation on various internal and
external boards.
His more recent activities as a private consultant are focused on
business and strategy development for a range of clients including
telecommunications service providers, consultancies, and e-health
providers.
Jak Grimm,
Perpetual Networks Delivery Manager
Jak
Grimm has over 20 years experience in the telecommunications
industry. Starting off in factory automation, he then moved into NEC's
PABX manufacturing plant as a test engineer. From there he joined
Nortel, working in testing, technical support and engineering. His
background covers project management, business improvement, and general
management, with strong technical skills in software and
telecommunications hardware.
Mr. Grimm has worked with many of the
country based and regional telecommunications carriers in Asia
Pacific. Most recently he was managing the installation and
commissioning of radio base station upgrade teams. Another major role
Mr. Grimm performs is the software upgrade function for voice
exchanges, both TDM and next generation VoIP technologies. These
systems upgrade and software engineering projects have been executed
for telecommunications systems throughout the ANZ and Asia regions.
Mr. Grimm's many years of experience has contributed to the development
of Zamro processes which integrate seamlessly with existing customer
procedures, to ensure a smooth coupling of
the Upgrade requirement with the carriers zero-failure in-service
requirement.
Mr. Grimm has a double degree in Electrical Engineering and Business
Management, with extensive industry management training and experience.
Robert Kolling,
Perpetual Network Software Engineer Manager
Robert Kolling has close to 30 years
telecommunications experience,
fully qualified on all facets of computer, network and telephone
switching support across multi-vendor platforms along with extensive
background in both hardware and software analysis. Robert's experience
in emerging technologies has provided the capability to fully integrate
complex technologies.
As a Delivery Manager and Senior Engineer Robert currently works on
projects from pre-sales to their successful conclusion providing
quotation, management and implementation services. His managerial and
technical expertise has led to more efficient and cost effective
project delivery while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Robert holds a BS from St Johns University and AAS from SVA.
